MT 110 - Clinical Laboratory Techniques


This course covers the basic principles and techniques used in the medical laboratory. Emphasis is placed on medical terminology, basic microscopy, and phlebotomy. Other topics include an overview of all the disciplines in clinical laboratory science, laboratory safety, infection control, accreditation, certification, and licensure. Upon completion, students will be able to perform basic laboratory procedures and utilize basic theories of laboratory principles. 3.00 semester credit hours Contact Hours: 45.00 Prerequisites: SC 145 Anatomy and Physiology I /SC 145L Anatomy and Physiology I Lab .
