NM 485 - Nursing Preceptorship With NCLEX Review


This clinical course is the capstone course for the nursing major. The focus of this course will be on integration of the professional role in various healthcare settings. Students will work with a preceptor to synthesize theory, assessment, and competence expected of BSN graduates. In a collaborative relationship with a preceptor and a faculty advisor, the student implements a learning contract that is specific to the student’s learning interests and needs. An NCLEX review will take place during this course. 6.00 semester credit hours Contact Hours: 211.50 Prerequisite: NM 410 Ethics in Nursing  NM 422 Clinical Nursing III , NM 480 Leadership and Issues in Nursing , SS 340 Social Structure and Culture in the United States , HU 325 Literature and the Art of Healthcare . Corequisite: NM 465 Nursing Research , PD 202 Professional Development II (Semester Credit Hour Course) .
