NA 230 - Nutrition


This course offers a nursing perspective on the role of nutrition in health promotion, primary prevention, and clinical disease states. Emphasis will be on classroom and clinical application of critical thinking and caring therapeutic nursing interventions in acute, chronic, and community healthcare settings. Concepts and issues examined include nutrition throughout the life span, nutrition as related to specific disease processes, community nutrition, and USDA dietary guidelines. 3.00 semester credit hours Contact Hours: 45.00 Prerequisites/Corequisites: None.
