OT 275 - Level 2B Fieldwork


This course is an advanced level II fieldwork experience that offers intensive training and experience leading to entry-level occupational therapy assistant skills. Fieldwork level IIB is completed in a setting that is different from the fieldwork level IIA setting to allow the student maximal growth and learning opportunities. The emphasis is on practical work experience under the supervision of an experienced OTR or COTA, allowing the student to apply classroom didactic learning experiences while delivering services to clients with the focus on purposeful and meaningful occupation. The student will be exposed to a variety of clients across the life span in a variety of settings. This eight-week full-time fieldwork experience is designed to promote clinical reasoning appropriate to the occupational therapy assistant role and will provide an opportunity to transmit the values and beliefs of ethical practice and to develop professionalism and competency as an occupational therapy assistant.
