MO 216 - Ethics and Health Information Management

This course is designed to introduce the student to important legal and ethical guidelines within the healthcare profession. The student will be introduced to patient confidentiality and information security as identified and enforced through HIPAA regulations. Additionally, the student will learn legal and ethical guidelines as they relate to documentation, content, and structure of healthcare data, risk management, and various health laws and regulations. 2.00 semester credit hours Contact Hours: 30.00 Prerequisites/Corequisites: None.
