NO 113 - Nursing Process and Documentation

This course introduces the student to the steps in the nursing process. The formalized NANDA nursing language is presented, along with basic medical terminology. Nursing care planning is presented, and examples of care plans are given. Types of nursing documentation in various healthcare settings are presented, with examples of both narrative and computer-based charting. Government incentives to adopt electronic medical records are discussed, and the student is introduced to a model electronic medical record (EMR) and given simulation practice opportunities.
