MSW 628 - Mental Health Services and Interventions

The role of social work within the mental and health systems will be explored. The role of social work with lobbyists to pursue desired policy/ program access for desired outcomes for clients served. Students will also learn how mental health policy impacts their clinical social work interventions with clients. This class will also cover access to services including Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance coverage, telehealth resources, client access to needed services, confidentiality and privacy issues related to mental health.  Semester Credit Hours: 3.00 Contact Hours: 45/0/0/45 Prerequisites: Advanced standing or completion of all 500 level MSW courses. Corequisites: None.
