Master of Business Administration - Dual Concentration Option (MBADC)

Program Description

This program prepares an existing or emerging organizational or team leader with the necessary skills and academic knowledge for management positions in various business enterprises. These career opportunities may be in areas such as accounting, finance, business administration, sales, marketing, human resources, information systems, project management, production and operations. Application of theory to practice is emphasized through a problem-based/solutions-based curriculum, grounded in a framework of ethical leadership and global competition.

Core MBA Program Outcomes

Upon completion of their program, the student should be able to:

  1. Analyze core business concepts
  2. Create business solutions using ethical leadership, project management and teamwork skills
  3. Use data to drive decision-making and propose solutions to complex business problems
  4. Create solutions that consider global competition and various cultural perspectives
  5. Prepare logically constructed, relevant, and culturally appropriate written arguments and presentations

Dual Concentration Outcomes

Upon completion of their program, the student should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills in each of the two concentrations selected.   The Goals for each concentration and how each map back to the Core MBA Program Goals are as follows:

Accounting and Finance Concentration Outcomes

Upon completion of their program, the student should be able to:

C1. Evaluate accounting systems for compliance with financial accounting standards (P1, 3)

C2. Create management accounting systems (P1, 3, 5)

C3. Audit organization financial performance for compliance (P1, 2, 3, 5)

Data Analytics Concentration Outcomes

Upon completion of their program, the student should be able to:

C1. Apply quantitative & statistical methods to business problems (P1, 3)

C2. Recommend sources and analysis methods for business data (P2, 3)

C3. Apply analytic techniques to solve business problems (P1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

Healthcare Management Concentration Outcomes

Upon completion of their program, the student should be able to:

C1. Evaluate healthcare management system design (P1, 3)

C2. Audit compliance with legal standards (P1, 2, 5)

C3. Design monitoring systems compliant with professional ethical standards (P1, 2, 5)

C4. Analyze financial health of healthcare organizations (P1, 3, 4, 5)

Human Resource Concentration Outcomes

C1. Formulate strategies that will enable organizations to achieve both operational and strategic goals (P 1)

C2. Apply HRM metrics to make informed decisions (P1, 4)

C3. Apply techniques in talent management to facilitate HR strategic planning. (P4, 5)

C4.  Assess opportunities to improve and sustain organizational performance through strategic thinking and management by the development of human capital (P1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

C5.  Recommend decisions based on professional standards and practices for ethical conduct, legal requirements, and regulatory guidelines that are in the best interest of the
        individual, the organization, the environment, and society as a whole (P2, 3)

Project Management Concentration Outcomes

Upon completion of their program, the student should be able to:

C1. Assess tradeoffs between key areas of transportation, inventory, and warehouse management and recommend actionable plans and strategies (P1, 2, 3)

C2. Apply best practices and tools related to project management (P1, 2)

C3. Create a project plans to meet timescales, budgets and deliverables (P1, 2, 3)

C4. Manage creative teams and project processes effectively and efficiently (P2, 4)

Technology Management Concentration Courses

Upon completion of their program, the student should be able to:

C1. Develop a strategic technology plan (P1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

C2. Recommend IT security solutions (P2, 3, 5)

C3. Apply a technology driven solution to specific IT case projects (P1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

Potential Occupational Titles

Potential occupational titles for this program include, but are not limited to, general manager, department manager, team leader, unit leader, operations manager, and administrative services manager.

Program Content

A minimum of 42.00 semester credit hours is required.

Required Foundation Course(s) 3-6 Semester Credit Hours


Required Core MBA Courses - 21 Semester Credit Hours


Additional Required MBA Courses - A Minimum of 18 Semester Credit Hours


A minimum of eighteen (18.00) semester credit hours of additional coursework is required to reach the required total of 42 semester credit hours.  Courses should be selected from the courses listed in two (2) of the concentration areas below.  If a course appears in both concentrations, than additional elective, graduate business courses must be taken to total the required 42 semester credit hours.  Both concentrations will be noted on the transcript and the diploma.
