DH 405 - Contemporary Issues in Dental Hygiene

This course examines current societal and professional issues and their impact on dental hygiene practice. Topics include, but are not limited to, advanced practice models to expand oral health services, counseling regarding smoking cessation, recent medical advances in the field of dentistry, and legal policy issues currently impacting dental hygiene. Semester Credit Hours 1.00 semester credit hour Contact Hours: 15.00 Prerequisites: DH 284 Community Dental Health , DH 399C Dental Hygiene Clinical Practice II , DH 402 Periodontology II , and DH 410 Diverse Needs in Patient Populations .
