Program Description

The Associate of Science in General Studies - Pre-Nursing degree is a pathway into Herzing University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. This program offers students foundational knowledge to prepare for a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Interaction in courses within the general studies program promotes communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving, as well as quantitative and qualitative reasoning through various course offerings.

Program Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, the student should be able to:

  1. Identify personal, academic, and professional/career goals.
  2. Integrate principles of critical thinking through knowledge application.
  3. Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
  4. Analyze the science behind maintaining body homeostasis.  
  5. Employ both quantitative and qualitative reasoning in the scientific process.
  6. Demonstrate communication skills in a variety of formats.
