Program Description
The Bachelor of Science in Psychology program prepares students with a knowledge of major psychological principles, research methodology, and application. This online program provides students with a comprehensive knowledge base of the major theoretical frameworks, while also emphasizing mental health for diverse populations. The program includes a core group of behavioral health courses to prepare students to work in various interdisciplinary settings. Students will be prepared for success in a variety of career and graduate education paths.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, the student should be able to:
- Describe key concepts, principles, and overarching themes in psychology.
- Use scientific reasoning to interpret psychological phenomena.
- Apply ethical standards to evaluate psychological science and practice.
- Demonstrate effective writing and presentation skills for different purposes.
- Apply psychological content and skills to career goals.
- Understand the factors, including sociocultural, that influence mental health.
Program Content
A minimum of 120.00 semester credit hours is required for graduation.

Required Courses in Behavioral Health
All courses, 25.00 semester credit hours, are required.
Required Courses in Psychology
All courses, 39.00 semester credit hours, are required.
Open Elective Courses
A minimum of 18.00 semester credit hours is required. Eligible students can take up to 12.00 credit hours of graduate level coursework to complete a portion of the open electives requirement.
Dual Credit Courses
Eligible students can replace up to 3.00 semester credit hours of the core program requirements with approved dual credit graduate level coursework. A total of 12.00 graduate semester credit hours can be taken throughout the student’s program.
