Program Description
Cybersecurity is being impacted by technological advancements at both the attack and defense ends, especially due to the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI). The Master of Science in Cybersecurity program is specifically designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of cybersecurity, with a strong focus on integrating AI technologies and techniques. Students in this program will gain a deep understanding of the technical aspects of cybersecurity, including how AI algorithms can be used to detect and prevent cyber attacks, identify patterns and anomalies in network traffic, and automate incident response processes. They will also explore the ethical implications of cybersecurity operations and considerations of using AI in cybersecurity, ensuring that they develop a well-rounded perspective on the responsible use of these technologies.
Coursework in this program provides a foundation for select industry certifications. These certifications enhance employment opportunities but are not a state specific requirement.
Program Outcome
Upon completion of this program, the student should be able to:
- Analyze complex cybersecurity challenges to protect digital assets.
- Develop innovative strategies to protect networks against cybersecurity attacks.
- Analyze digital evidence in forensics investigations.
- Evaluate ethical hacking techniques for identifying vulnerabilities in connected devices.
- Create comprehensive incident response plans to mitigate the impact of cyber incidents.
- Lead cybersecurity operations including communicating with diverse stakeholders to maintain alignment of security strategies.
- Develop advanced artificial intelligence and deep learning (AI/DL) approaches for cybersecurity to identify and mitigate security risks.
