The focus of this course is on the foundations of database administration. Topics include managing users, profiles, privileges, and resources, creating operational databases, managing database files, start up and shut down of an instance and database, and managing tablespaces, segments, indexes, extents, and blocks. 3.00 semester credit hours Contact Hours: 60.00 Prerequisite: IS 219 Database Concepts and Applications II .
