NU 206 - Introduction to Professional Nursing This course will present an overview of the profession of nursing including historical, theoretical, political, social, and economic impact. The student will be introduced to nursing roles, ethics, health promotion, evidence-based practice, standards of practice, and professional accountability and responsibility. The nurse as a leader in the healthcare system will also be explored. 3.00 semester credit hours Contact Hours: 45.00 Prerequisite: None. Corequisites: NU 208 - Pathophysiology and NU 211 - Introduction to Clinical Nursing .
