DH 290 - Pharmacology for the Dental Hygienist


This course introduces the student to a variety of drug categories, with emphasis placed on commonly prescribed medications and drugs utilized in the dental office. The physical and chemical characteristics of drugs, routes of administration, therapeutic and side effects, precautions, drug interactions, and contraindications to dental treatment will be covered. 2.00 semester credit hours Contact Hours: 30.00 Prerequisites: DH 119 Orofacial Structures  and DH 141 Oral Histology and Embryology . Corequisite: None.
