NP 200 - LPN Medical Surgical Nursing This course introduces practical nursing students to the principles and practices of medical-surgical nursing across diverse health care settings. Emphasis is placed on the role of the LPN in providing safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care for adults with common health problems. Students will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for disorders affecting major body systems, including immune, respiratory, cardiovascular, neurologic, sensory, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, urinary, endocrine, reproductive, hematologic, and integumentary systems. The course also integrates pharmacology, emergency and disaster management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Learning experiences connect theory with clinical reasoning to prepare students for entry-level practice and NCLEX-PN success.
