Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Human Resources

Program Description

This program prepares an existing or emerging organizational or team leader with the necessary skills and academic knowledge for management positions in various business enterprises. These career opportunities may be in areas such as accounting, finance, business administration, sales, marketing, human resources, information systems, project management, production and operations. Application of theory to practice is emphasized through a problem-based/solutions-based curriculum, grounded in a framework of ethical leadership and global competition.

Core MBA Program Outcomes

Upon completion of their program, the student should be able to:

  1. Analyze core business concepts
  2. Create business solutions using ethical leadership, project management and teamwork skills
  3. Use data to drive decision-making and propose solutions to complex business problems
  4. Create solutions that consider global competition and various cultural perspectives.
  5. Prepare logically constructed, relevant, and culturally appropriate written arguments and presentations

MBA Human Resource Management Concentration Outcomes

Upon completion of their program, the student should be able to:

  1. Formulate strategies that will enable organizations to achieve both operational and strategic goals. (P 1)
  2. Apply HRM metrics to make informed decisions. (P1, 4)
  3. Apply techniques in talent management to facilitate HR strategic planning. (P 4, 5)
  4. Assess opportunities to improve and sustain organizational performance through strategic thinking and management by the development of human capital. (P1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
  5. Recommend decisions based on professional standards and practices for ethical conduct, legal requirements, and regulatory guidelines that are in the best interest of the individual, the organization, the environment, and society as a whole. (P 2, 3).

Program Content

A minimum of 33.00 semester credit hours is required.

  • A minimum of 36.00 semester credit hours is required for students who do not have an undergraduate degree in Business, a closely related discipline or its international equivalent.

Additional Required Human Resources Concentration


A minimum of 9.00 semester credit hours is required.
