Program Description
The Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the rapidly evolving field of business analytics. It goes beyond traditional business education by focusing on the strategic use of data to drive business decisions. This program integrates business strategy, data analysis, and technology to help students develop a comprehensive understanding of how data-driven insights can drive decision-making and business success. This program also explores the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on business practices. Program content includes core business knowledge, data analytics skills, data management and technology, decision-making, ethical considerations, and emerging trends in the field.
Coursework in this program provides a foundation for select industry certifications. These certifications enhance employment opportunities but are not a state specific requirement.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, the student should be able to:
- Apply statistical methods and data analysis techniques to extract meaningful and actionable insights from business datasets.
- Create scripts using programming languages to produce queries and manipulate data structures.
- Evaluate various database management systems and how they are used to cleanse, store, and retrieve data.
- Apply artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling techniques to solve business problems.
- Evaluate various business intelligence and visualization tools and techniques and how they are used to communicate analytical insights for making business decisions.
- Analyze the ethical considerations, legal implications, and privacy challenges associated with data collection and usage.
Program Content
A minimum of 120.00 semester credit hours is required for graduation.

Required Courses
All courses, 66.00 semester credit hours, are required.
Open Elective Courses
A minimum of 12.00 semester credit hours is required. Eligible students can take approved dual credit graduate level courses to complete a portion of the open electives requirement.
Dual Credit Courses
Eligible students can replace up to 9.00 semester credit hours of the core program requirements with approved dual credit graduate level coursework. A total of 12.00 graduate semester credit hours can be taken throughout the student’s program.
Required Capstone or Internship
4.00 semester credit hours, are required.
Required Courses in General Education
Students enrolled in this bachelor’s degree must complete a minimum of 36.00 semester credit hours in general education distributed among the following disciplines. Refer to the General Education section of the catalog for specific information about courses within each discipline. Courses transferred from other accredited colleges may also be used to meet these requirements.
Personal and Professional Development Courses
All courses, 2.00 semester credit hours, are required.
